I handled a lot of the visual design for this game, illustrating and designing the box as well as some of the cards, as well contributing to designing the core mechanics. I also contributed to the writing of several of the prompts.
MECHANICS
Something we absolutely wanted to avoid was having a player’s success or enjoyment depend on their drawing abilities.
Players are prompted to draw based on random, nonsensical prompts, and then they must pitch someone else’s drawing. This has two beneficial effects:
1.
This creates a sense of detachment from the drawing
Having an unsuccessful pitch now feels somewhat out of your control, making it feel less personal.
2.
The poorer the drawing, the more freedom of interpretation the presenter has
This creates opportunities for humorous logical leaps that make this game fun, and that makes pitches stick with investors.
